FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out? You Got It, Dude. Or I Do. Or We Are Both Crazy.

You know that feeling when all of your friends are invited to a party -- everyone except you, of course. I've never been the one left out (every good party needs that one girl that drinks too much, makes inappropriate jokes, and pukes on the patio, right?) but I can only imagine what it feels like. I am experiencing that kind of sadness right now, and it's tough. No matter how much I want to be included in things that I believe I am a perfect fit for - parties, social events, job opportunities - it's not always up to me to make the decisions. The only thing that is up to me is how I feel. And right now?

I am good.

I'm not always happy, and that's perfectly ok. I don't have to be happy all the time. You don't have to either, no matter what anyone tells you otherwise. But even if you are unhappy, you should always be kind... and I don't mean kind of nice, kind of supportive, or kind of a jerk.

Just. Be. Kind.

After all, the best thing that you can do for yourself is to treat others the way that you would like to be treated. When your time of joy comes around, others will treat you well in return. And if they don't? Life goes on. At least you did the right thing.

There are many great mysteries in life, but we can be sure of one thing: What you put forth to others will always come back to you. If you put out negative energy, you will also receive it. Feel what you have to feel, even if that means spending an entire weekend locked in your bathroom, sobbing into a bottle of wine. Everyone processes things differently. But don't expect your life to bounce back if you choose to spend your time whining, complaining, and comparing. Pick yourself up and do great things!

This was written as much for you as it was for me.

p.s. I still like you like whoa! <3
