The more that I learn about myself, the less I actually know.
That just sounds weird, right? Learning leads to knowledge, at least in the broadest, most general sense. But here's the thing...
In the past few months, I've tasted strange foods, read new books, and second-guessed just about everything that I once held to be true.
I've zipped down a super high, super fast water slide (and heights, swimming, and doing anything fast used to terrify me).
And I really love the idea of being thrown into challenging experiences that force me to really dive in and learn if I hope to succeed.
Yes. I am learning a lot about myself while shrugging off the knowledge and security that I once clung to. And you know what? Change is good. Discovering new interests is always good. And challenging myself to do more and be more makes for a pretty sweet life.
So the next time I scrunch my nose in disgust of a new flavor or run in fear of a new experience, I will remember that I have not tried anything lately that I have not ended up LOVING.
And though I don't know everything about this 'Autumn' person, I do know this: I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone. In fact, I'm better for it. I challenge you to do the same.
How have you challenged yourself lately?
