Help Channel 2 And Children's Restoration Network Stuff The Bus This Saturday! #Atlanta

It all started a few weeks ago. The seasonal section at Target cleared out in anticipation of the back to school season. Some parents (myself included) were a little perplexed - Didn't the school year end just a few weeks earlier?

There's something special about collecting school supplies to prepare for the new school year. I remember picking out pink and green and sparkly folders, pencils and backpacks when I was a child, and how the simple act of touching and smelling fresh school supplies helped me get excited for another year of learning. Not every child is as fortunate as I was, and now that I am a parent, I have become keenly aware of the advantages that my daughter has over many of her peers. The little things that I took for granted as a child -- a full set of school supplies and lunch money -- are things many children do not have access to, but I can help.

We can help.

Last year, volunteers donated 5,500 new book bags and school supplies that helped every school-aged child living in a shelter or group home in the metro Atlanta area receive a brand new book bag filled with supplies.
