The Crown Reef Beach Resort For Myrtle Beach #familytravel

A few weeks ago, my family and I were treated to a weekend at the Crown Reef Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. The resort had just completed a multi-million dollar transformation, including the addition of a brand new waterpark and recreation area.

We stayed in a standard room on the eleventh floor, which was actually quite perfect for us. There's just something so amazing about looking down at the span of coast below - being part of the serenity, but also a bit removed. The room was comfortable, tastefully decorated, and very clean.

The recreation options of the Crown Reef Resort were convenient and varied. We spent much of our mornings at the water park, and afternoons / evenings shopping, dining, and playing in the arcade at the Town Center. The Breyer's ice cream was a wonderful treat after a long day of sun and sand.

i really enjoyed the location of the resort, as well. It is located on the south end of Myrtle Beach, and had less traffic and congestion than other parts of the beachfront strip. We were able to navigate the surrounding areas with ease because of this.

Danger and I took long walks on the beach each morning, rising just before the sun to explore the shells and sea creatures in our path. There are some major beachcombers in Myrtle Beach, and though we were up early, there were always at least a dozen other couples out for a stroll.

I will always remember our trip to Myrtle Beach for two big reasons: 1) My family and I were in the right atmosphere to truly escape and relax; and 2) We had plenty of opportunities to bond, both at the resort and the surrounding area. Relaxation and family bonding rank right up at the top of my family travel priorities, so I'd say that our visit to the Crown Reef Beach Resort was a success!
