Danger and I had the opportunity to attend an advanced screening of the "Muppets Most Wanted" at Atlantic Station. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting to be all that excited about the movie. I don't really remember much about the Muppets other than the Muppet Babies show from my childhood (that I adored!) and I haven't watched any of the movies. That said, keep in mind that my thoughts on the new "Muppets Most Wanted" movie come from someone unfamiliar with the Muppets line.
The plot is as silly as it is intriguing. An evil Kermit lookalike - Constantine - escapes prison and takes Kermit's place on the Muppets world tour. His impersonation is decent enough to fool the other Muppets as he carries out his plans to steal artifacts with his Number Two guy, portrayed by Ricky Gervais.
There are many things to love about the film, but perhaps my favorite is the music. The songs are very catchy, especially those performed by the evil Constantine and inside the prison.
There are quite a few celebrity cameos in this movie, too. I was excited to see Jemaine Clement (from Flight of the Concords fame) as a supporting actor in the "Muppets Most Wanted." The acting was pretty solid for a family-based film, too. Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, and Ty Burrell all did a fantastic job of portraying their roles.
Danger and I giggled throughout the movie, and as we left the theater, she said, "This was the best day ever, Mommy!" which really pleased me because it was only noon. I walked away with a smile and a new appreciation for the Muppets franchise. This movie was a total win for the Bradshaw girls!
The "Muppets Most Wanted" movie is now playing at theaters nationwide. You are welcome to print out this fun Catch Constantine coloring sheet to entertain your child before the movie starts!
