School is out for the summer, and we all know what that means: It's time to set course for family travel! Whether you prefer a trip to the beach, a remote cabin in the woods, a historical trek through the lands of American legends, or even a local "staycation," family travel is a wonderful way to spend some quality time with children. June is Family Travel month on the Classic Mommy blog, and I am so excited to start sharing some of our recent travels with you all. From hotel reviews to travel tips -- right down to what you absolutely need to pack for toddler road trips! -- this will be an informative and fun month on the blog.
First up: Daytona Beach, Florida.
Daytona Beach is one of my favorite travel destinations for four reasons:
1) Nostalgia. I traveled to Daytona frequently as a child, and have family that lives close by.
2) The Boardwalk. Whether we are playing games like ski ball or air hockey, or competing on the arcade-style units, the boardwalk is a lively place to take a nighttime stroll. (And don't forget the cotton candy! YUM!)
3) Amazing restaurants. The Daytona area is home to several great restaurants, and while some of my favorites have either moved or raised prices over the years, some have remained relatively unchanged -- which is awesome news for frequent travelers! I will be posting a review of one of my favorite area restaurants this month, so stay tuned.
4) Diverse entertainment. Whether you like to shop, learn, or adventure on vacation, Daytona Beach offers a lot of options for everyone. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve Daytona activities - like singing karaoke with my Daddy at an area mall.
What travel destination are you most looking forward to visiting with your family this summer?
