InstaPalette Week 4: Imagine It! Children's Museum of Atlanta's April Schedule


I’m starting a new #ww series where I choose my favorite Instagram-worthy pic and create a color palette inspired by the image: Insta-palette. This is week #4.

Danger and I love the Imagine It! Children's Museum of Atlanta. There are so many different zones to explore, and the entire museum is full of opportunities to learn. 

April is going to be a very fun month at the Museum. Children will have the opportunity to explore science with Sid the Science Kid, touch a real brain, visit a NASA space shuttle, and celebrate Earth Day at the Museum! Sound exciting? You bet!

Take a peek at April's special events at Imagine It! 

Exploring Brains! Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 p.m.: Learn all about the human brain with the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience and the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. Guests will learn where all five senses are controlled in the brain, as well as how our brains help us to jump, run, and play. Guests will also have the opportunity to touch a real brain! Cool, right?!

Celebrate Science With Sid the Science Kid! Saturday, April 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Participate in scavenger hunts, science activities, and more as you check out the first-ever Sid the Science Kid full-length movie! Children will receive special Sid the Science Kid activity booklets and stickers.

Cooking With Colors! Wednesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. AND Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m.: Local chef Damaul Mitchell will  help children learn how to create colorful and healthy foods with local fruits and vegetables. As part of the Eat a Georgia Rainbow program, children will learn that a healthy diet is one full of colors! Reservations required, as class is limited to 10 children and their adult caregivers. Meet An Astronaut At Destination Station! Friday, April 19 at at 1:00 p.m.: Destination Station is NASA's International Space Station Program national awareness campaign to promote research and education about the station and the impact of the station on our daily lives. Children will have the opportunity to touch a real astronaut's suit, try astronaut food, and explore a space shuttle model.

Meet the Holidays: Earth Day! Saturday, April 20 at 12:00 p.m. AND Sunday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m.: Learn all about Earth Day, and join the Imaginators for a special reading of The EARTH Book by Todd Parr. Guests will also have the opportunity to make Earth Day characters from reusable water bottles.

Alphabet Soup: Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre! Saturday, April 27 at 12:00 p.m.: Full of music, games, puppets, and learning, this fun and fast-paced show is sure to delight and educate children as they learn to love their lima beans!

The Science Wondershop With Brian "Dr. Science" Williams! SUNDAYS at 1:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. on April 7, 14, 21: Participate in exciting hands-on activities with Brian "Dr. Science" Williams. These activities are designed to encourage adult-child interaction while developing an interest in the exploration of our world.
