Every Child Deserves A Shot At Life

Every twenty seconds, a child dies from a vaccine-preventable disease. Every year, more than 1.7 million children die from these vaccine-preventable diseases, accounting for nearly 25 percent of all childhood deaths. Wouldn't you agree that this number is too high?

I recently had the privilege to attend an event hosted by [email protected], where I learned the above statistics and more. We take so many things for granted in America - I know that I do - while there are so many others that wish they had the same opportunities to protect their families.

If you could give a child the shot at something, what would it be? A shot at first steps... A shot at first words... A shot at childhood... Too many children in developing countries are dying and are unable to celebrate these firsts simply because they do not have access to life-saving vaccinations.

Let's work together to stop the clock and to prevent the unnecessary deaths of our world's most precious resource: our children. Make sure to visit the [email protected] website where you can learn more about the problems that developing countries face in healthcare and how you can become part of the solution.

I am in no way connected to the [email protected] organization and was not compensated for writing this post. The picture above was taken at the event by talented photographer Robin Gaucher (who can make almost anyone look good!)Β
