And Away We Went!

I recently made a road trip down to sunny Florida with my parents and little Danger. Handsome Husband had to stay in Atlanta because he's the type that does not like to miss a single day of work, even when he is sick. While sometimes I wish he had a less serious work ethic, I am very proud of him for being a man that our child can look up to. And... WOW! I really digressed there, didn't I? In order to stay on track, I'll mostly just let the pictures speak for themselves. How does that sound? Here goes...

It was almost a fourteen hour drive from my home to the site of SheStreams 2012, the social media conference that spurred our trip to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It took a little over five hours until we reached the Georgia-Florida state border.

The number one piece of advice that I can offer to road tripping parents of toddlers: Make sure the kid is wearing something comfortable! Danger wore a super soft dress from The Little Seed during our road trip. Every time she wears this dress (or one of her tees from TLS) people ask me why the fabric is so soft. I have so much fun explaining that raw cotton, colored with natural dyes, is responsible for the look and feel of this beautiful dress.

No trip to Florida would be complete without visiting a pool or two. While Danger was content to sit with her feet in the pool, she was even happier to lounge around in a comfy deck chair.

That's my super sassy little girl!

The beaches in the Ft. Lauderdale area were so beautiful, especially at sunset.

There were beautiful statues all over the area. The whale family statue that we found outside of a Panera Bread was simply gorgeous.

We also traveled through Daytona Beach, which is apparently the most famous beach in the world. It's not hard to see why. There are so many attractions and delicious foods in the area! My favorite restaurant down there is a place called Aunt Catfish's, where you can walk down a pier after your meal and search for sea life.

Danger thought she saw a mermaid, but wasn't too sure.

We went back to the beach and turned her into a mermaid just for fun. It has been two weeks, and she is still talking about her trip to the beach!

And for added fun, here's a pic of yours truly with little Danger on the boardwalk.

Do you have a favorite beach? I'd love to hear about it! And hey - if you can convince my husband to take a few days off of work to visit the beach with us, please try! I've been unsuccessful thus far. Take care!
