I've been a huge fan of musicals most of my life, starting in middle school when I participated in Show Choir. I've secretly longed for the day when it would be acceptable to break out in song and dance in various life situations. In fact, I'm quite guilty of singing and dancing in public on more than one occasion (karaoke in the mall ring a bell, Daddy?). I was thrilled when I heard that a fun, upbeat musical called MEMPHIS was coming to Atlanta on tour. Starting tomorrow night, Atlantans will be treated to a special limited engagement of the hit Broadway musical MEMPHIS at The Fox Theatre. While this show runs only from January 31 - February 5, it is one event that you will not want to miss.
About The Musical
MEMPHIS takes place in the smoky halls and underground clubs of the segregated 50's, where a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun fell in love with everything he shouldn't: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer. MEMPHIS is an original story about the cultural revolution that erupted when his vision met her voice, and the music changed forever. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves -- filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock 'n' roll.
MEMPHIS was the 2010 Tony® Award Winner for Best Musical.

I am so excited about attending this musical with one of my very best friends. We are going to have a Girls' Night Out while our very handsome husbands watch the kids. Check back later this week for a review.
