As a parent, we all try to relive our childhood through our children, to some extent. As a child, my husband had a serious LEGO collection. One of the highlights of visiting with my family (my nephew, in particular) has always been that my husband got to play LEGOs with our nephew. We weren't really sure if we would ever end up owning those plastic bricks, as we have but one little girl that is interested in American Girl dolls, Calico Critters, and dresses.
Yesterday, we decided to buy her some to see if she would be interested in playing with them. The toy store was having a big sale, and the MEGA BLOCKS sets were buy two, get the third free. Awesome! I can honestly say that it took us an hour to pick out which sets we wanted to purchase. :)
And guess what?
She absolutely LOVES to play with them! We could not be any happier - especially my husband, who now gets his brick-building fix from the comforts of our own home.
Did you have a favorite toy when you were young? What was it? I liked to collect Barbie dolls and the old-school Polly Pocket playsets. My daughter will be receiving these collections when she's a little older. (Yes, my mom saved them for me!) Have you purchased your old favorites for your own children? Please share!
